Narrative Introduction

Each module contains a "narrative" that provides a comprehensive summary of the topic and the knowledge and skills that students will master by completing the learning activities. The narrative contains both text (5,000 to 8,000 words) and graphics that explain the topic and prepare the instructor for teaching. Narratives also contain special information for instructors called "teaching associates" and "technical advisors." Teaching associates are brief recommendations on how to help students understand a particularly difficult concept or acquire a skill that is especially challenging. Technical advisors provide technical information related to the topic of interest that may be too advanced for most students or is tangential (but related) to the main topic.
