Performance Assessment

The performance assessment is the capstone of each module, because it measures the degree that students have mastered the key learning objectives specified in the learning activities. MATEC’s performance assessments often test both the student’s acquisition of new knowledge and the student’s capability to perform technical tasks. Since many topics involve specialized equipment and environments that are unavailable at education and training sites, performance assessments often include tasks that are analogous to work tasks (e.g., explaining proper procedures for troubleshooting microprocessors) or tasks that simulate events within the workplace (e.g., demonstrating proper procedures for communicating production data to managers).
