Conference attendees are invited to participate in the Technology Showcase. This is a great opportunity to see the latest products and services that relate to the training and education environment.

Showcase Activities

  • Exhibitor set up: 6:00 AM – 9:00 AM
  • Opening Reception 9:30 AM – 10:30 AM
  • Exhibits open: 9:30 AM – 7:00 PM
  • Raffles: 9:45 AM, 2:45 PM, 4:45 PM, and 5:45 PM (Must be present to win)
  • Evening Reception: 4:30 PM – 7:00 PM

FPGA Mission Assurance Center: Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs) provide an excellent mechanism for schools from the high school level through graduate level to teach concepts of digital logic in a hands-on environment. FPGAs are “chameleon chips” that are also critical components in state-of-the-art systems from spacecraft to handheld devices to network routers. The FPGA Mission Assurance Center (FMAC) consortium brings together New Mexico R&D facilities, both public and private, including University of New Mexico, Air Force Research Lab, Xilinx Inc., Los Alamos National Lab and Sandia National Lab. This consortium conducts research, education, and direct project assistance to ensure success of FPGA developments.

The National Center for Telecommunications Technologies (NCTT) is an Advanced Technological Education Center of Excellence in the instruction of Telecommunications Engineering Technologies housed within Springfield Technical Community College. Funded through a National Science Foundation grant (DUE-0302548), NCTT is charged with leading a national collaborative of business and education partners to develop and disseminate an always relevant, industry-driven curriculum to teach and train tomorrow's Information and Communications Technologies (ICT) technicians and technologists.

MATEC NETWORKS is a National Resource Center provided by the Maricopa Advanced Technology Education Center (MATEC). NetWorks is funded by a grant from the National Science Foundation (DUE-0501626) and is the foremost online community for exemplary resources in semiconductors, automated manufacturing, and electronics training and education. Its parent organization, MATEC, is a National Center of Excellence in Advanced Technological Education and is a member of the Division of Academic and Student Affairs at the Maricopa Community Colleges.

The National Center for Optics and Photonics Education (OP-TEC) is a consortium of two-year colleges, high schools, universities, national laboratories, industry partners, and professional societies. Funded by the National Science Foundation's Advanced Technological Education (ATE) program, OP-TEC is establishing a national infrastructure for developing and supporting widely disseminated educational programs in cutting-edge, high-demand technologies that require photonics. OP-TEC is committed to developing a robust supply of highly-qualified and well-prepared technicians to maintain the nation's technical and economic dominance in photonics and photonics-enhanced technologies.

The Southwest Center for Microsystems Education (SCME) provides the microsystems industry with workforce development models, materials, and professional development opportunities for communities developing microsystems technology clusters. SCME assists this industry in establishing national skill standards for technicians and creating a skilled microsystems workforce.
